Mission, Vision & Values
Digital Human Library evolved out of a grade 2 classroom and one teacher's lived experience and her passion for connecting students to new people, places, and ideas from around the world. Leigh Cassell turned that conviction into a platform that now supports K–12 schools and libraries across North America — bringing curriculum to life through live video conferences with experts, virtual tours and VR experiences, and student-created innovation projects. Built by educators and shaped by the communities it serves, dHL remains committed to experiences that are safe, culturally inclusive, and responsive to the diverse needs of every learner.

- Remove barriers of distance, cost, and access to create equitable learning experiences for all

- Develop global competencies, cultural awareness, and critical digital literacies in every learner
- Support reconciliation by connecting students to Indigenous knowledge, perspectives, and histories in ways that are protective and honouring
- Build a safe, scalable, and community-driven platform that is easy for educators to use
