The You Can Play Project, a North American non-profit organization centered around sports advocacy, is thrilled to partner with Digital Human Library.
About You Can Play
You Can Play’s mission is to ensure the safety and inclusion of all LGBTQ people in sports, including athletes, coaches, staff and fans. We believe that fostering athletic environments free of judgment and discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity and/or gender expression is crucial to keeping people safe, as well as protecting the business of sports. 24% of LGBTQ youth say they play a school sport, compared to 68% of all youth.
The You Can Play Project is an advocacy-based organization with educational programs focussing on allyship 101, athlete support, and inclusivity as it pertains to specific sports and their roles involved. Our content is aimed at evolving locker room and spectator culture, optimizing inclusion policies, and increasing participation in sports among LGBTQ youth. Through our work we provide safer access to sports, as well as create bridges between sports brands and the LGBTQ community.
You Can Play is offering the following programs through Digital Human Library, and is excited to bring our programs directly to educators in North America:
Allyship 101 (40 minute training)
- LGBTQIA+ terminology and identities
- Language and verbiage workshop
- Intersectionality, intent, and impact
- Inclusive spaces overview
Career Talk (30 mins – 1 hour)
