connect2texasConnect2Texas is a network of Texas-based educational content providers including museums, cultural, historical, and scientific organizations, and authors. These providers utilize interactive videoconferencing to deliver live educational programs and professional development to school children and educators across the country. Bring the scientists, experts, and authors directly to your students without leaving the classroom! Instructions to complete the Connect2Texas Registration form can be found here.

NOTE: Most of the providers in the Connect2Texas Network charge a fee for their programs, with the exception of the Texas Wildlife Association, and occasionally, the MacDonald Observatory.

Exploring by the seat of your pants LogoExploring By The Seat Of Your Pants (EBTSOYP) is a non-profit organization offering distance learning programs that connect students with leading researchers, daring adventurers and innovative conservationists from around the world. Visit EBTSOYP to view their schedule of events, and register to watch a virtual field trip, or secure an on camera spot so your students can interact directly with the guest speaker. If you can’t make a scheduled event, watch the recorded Hangout on EBTSOYP YouTube channel. Field Trip zoomFieldTripZoom provides a cost effective high definition video conferencing solution to enable schools and content providers such as museums, zoos and parks to connect with each other, offering unique educational experiences. Their hosted “cloud-based” service requires only a PC or Mac, but is also able to connect with traditional videoconferencing equipment, bridging old and new technologies while maintaining the highest level of video quality. FieldTripZoom is now hosting a collection of content providers that utilize the FTZ platform to deliver their programs.

NOTE: FTZ charges a fee for their service and their programs.

geoshowmascot_optLearn Around The World provides Virtual Field Trips (VFT) and Virtual Guest Speakers from unique locations around the world. Their flagship VFT is called GEOshow, which is an interactive, geography-based virtual experience. Warning: this is not a passive experience, so lace up your boots, grab your passports, and get ready to explore! They also offer weekly guest speakers in our Meet A Local series. This is an “ask me anything (AMA)” style of show. Come and learn about their home countries! Visit their events page to register for an upcoming program.

Nepris LogoNepris connects teachers with industry professionals to bring real world relevance to curriculum topics, to help evaluate student projects and to engage and inspire students in STEAM! Teachers create a request based on a curriculum topic or activity that can benefit from an industry connection. Nepris automatically matches the skills of industry professional(s) with the teacher’s request and manages the process of connecting them to the right classroom.

Skype in the ClassroomSkype in the classroom is a free platform for connecting educators and experts to learners around the world. Skype offers 5 exciting ways to bring the world into your classroom: Virtual Field Trips, Skype Lessons, Skype Collaborations, Mystery Skype and Guest Speakers.

Virtual Researcher on CallVirtual Researcher On Call (VROC) is a set of educational programs that connect knowledge partners – college and university professors and professionals in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) – with Canadian students in elementary and secondary schools for real-time, interactive learning opportunities.

NOTE: VROC programs are free for teachers in Ontario and Alberta. Please contact VROC to inquire about pricing if you live outside of these provinces.
