I was introduced to Dr. Yvonne Marie Andres in 2013 after receiving an Honorable Mention at the ISTE SIGOL Awards. Dr. Yvonne Andres’ work in education inspires teachers and students worldwide to engage in internet-based collaborative learning. A former classroom teacher and educator for 20 years, Dr. Andres is the Global SchoolNet’s executive director, co-founder and visionary. She is co-creator of the Global Schoolhouse and producer of International Schools CyberFair and the US State Department’s Doors to Diplomacy program. Dr. Andres was also named one of the 25 most influential people worldwide in education technology.

Global SchoolNet Website
Global SchoolNet’s main purpose is to help teachers find collaborative learning partners and appropriate projects. The collection of project-based learning opportunities are diverse, challenging and innovative — ranging from understanding terrorism, the mathematics of music, exploring innovative waste management solutions, to creative story telling, online safety and studying global warming. There are learning projects for every age and to support every subject area. To start using their content, tools and resources, it is recommended that you take a tour of their website.
