- Middle East in Transition: Peace and Conflict (High School) – Part II (Nov 3, 9:00-10:30MT/11:00-12:30ET)** Gr 9-12 ◆
This session will change your students lives. Join us as we go LIVE to the Middle East to hear from the people on the ground what is really happening and the role Peace and Violence have in causing change. One lesson of prep. Involves international student collaboration.
- Child Soldiers: Caught in Conflict – LIVE from Sierra Leone (Nov 5, 9:00-10:30 Mountain)** – Gr 7-12 ◈ (FULL)
- How Scientific is Science? Cognitive Biases and Worldview (Nov 10, 9:00-10:20MT/11:00-12:20ET) – Gr 9-12 ◇
This is a super fun conference challenging the youth to question everything they hear and see…including « Science. » No prep required
- Liberalism Day (Nov 20, 9:00-12:00MT/11:00-2:00ET) – Gr 11-12 ◇
This half-day conference will host four 40 minute sessions throughout the morning, examining multiple perspectives on Liberalism: its success/failure around the world, and interpretation in modern cultures/media. (Schools are invited to join one session or all four.)
- Resistance Art: Poetry of Witness – LIVE from the Middle East (Nov 24, 9:00-10:30MT/11:00-12:30ET)**
– Gr 9-12 ◈
We will be hearing from a young revolutionary in Yemen as she shares how she uses poetry to fight Child Marriage. We will also be hearing from an acclaimed American slam poet as she shares her powerful poetry about self image and injustice. Students from each school will also have an opportunity to share their poetry with our guests and receive their feedback. Your students will leave this session changed and inspired to see Poetry as a tool for change in the world.
- Ethics of Stem Cell Research (Nov 27, 9:00-10:30MT/11:00-12:30ET ) – Gr 10-12 ◈
Join high school students from across North America as they come together to seek out and build consensus on how our scientific communities, local, national and international governments should move forward with Stem Cell Research. Students will hear about ground breaking research and learn about the implications it has on the ethical debate.
- Sustainable Energy: Green Technology or Global Disaster? (Upon Request) ◇
