{"id":11192,"date":"2026-06-30T08:24:25","date_gmt":"2026-06-30T08:24:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/digitalhumanlibrary.com\/live-learning-canada-announces-founding-partners-and-free-live-and-interactive-learning-pilot-program\/"},"modified":"2026-06-30T08:24:25","modified_gmt":"2026-06-30T08:24:25","slug":"live-learning-canada-announces-founding-partners-and-free-live-and-interactive-learning-pilot-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/digitalhumanlibrary.com\/yue\/live-learning-canada-announces-founding-partners-and-free-live-and-interactive-learning-pilot-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Live Learning Canada Announces Founding Partners and Free Live and Interactive Learning Pilot Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><b>Toronto, CA (April 12, 2018)<\/b><\/p>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Digital Human Library, Streamable Learning, Royal Botanical Gardens, The Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology, the Royal BC Museum and Central Okanagan Public Schools are excited to announce a partnership to provide and promote live and interactive educational programming to Canadian Schools and homeschool families.<\/span>\n\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6763\" src=\"https:\/\/www.digitalhumanlibrary.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Untitled-design.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\" \/>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe goal of the partnership is to empower schools and districts to participate in the next stage of distance learning, and support modern classroom initiatives, such as global education, blended learning, experiential learning, and project-based learning, among other modern educational initiatives.\u201d said Mark Hauk, Teacher and Virtual Field Trip Coordinator, Central Okanagan Public Schools. \u00a0<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe are happy to join with our Live Learning Canada partners to bring our programming and the larger Digital Human Library and Streamable Learning content community to the Canadian K-12 education community,\u201d said Liz Crocker, Learning Program Developer, The Royal BC Museum. <\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe believe our content community\u2019s amazing subject matter experts, unique locations and passion for education can provide valuable supplemental curriculum support to our schools,\u201d said Leigh Cassell, Founder and President, The Digital Human Library. \u201cThe partnership also hopes to generate increased interest from Canada-based content providers and help live video programming play a greater role in their educational missions,\u201d said Doug Ashton, President, Streamable Learning. <\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAs one of the early organizations to embrace distance learning as part of our educational outreach, we are excited to participate in the innovative use of video-based learning and in methodologies that can play a role in expanding access to the Canadian\u2019s school population,\u201d Karin Davidson-Taylor, Education Officer, Royal Botanical Gardens.<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHaving played a pioneering role in the development of classroom-based video learning, it was a natural next step to join this partnership and help expand access not only to our content but also the content of our current and future content partners,\u201d said Megan McLauchlin, Distance Learning Coordinator, Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology. . <\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Live Learning Canada free pilot program is available to Canadian public and private schools as well as Canadian homeschool families through the end of our 2017-2018 live streaming calendar of events (June 11, 2017).
